LH Sugar Factory: Sugar Manufacturing Company in India

By Business Factories
August 20, 2026

LH Sugar Factory is one of the premier sugar manufacturers in India. Its headquarters is located in Pilibhit, UP. Initially, the facility was producing 300TCD in 1909, but now it has reached 13,000TCD.  The company is growing larger with a rich agricultural legacy, operations in renewable energy and distillery products.

LH sugar factory: Its story of origin!

The company dates back to when two brothers had the same vision, Raja Laltha Prasad and Sahu Hari Prasad, had the same vision. They establish a proprietary concern in the fertile sugarcane belt. Originally, the company was established to help process local crops or to support local farmers. Still, now, it has been established as a great company directed by descendants of the founders. The company has reached new heights in terms of economic health, but it still maintains deep-rooted ties with the local agricultural community.

Top-notch manufacturing units!

With time, the LH sugar factory has integrated technological equipment and facilities. With expansive crushing capacity, the mill is efficiently processing sugarcane from a great network of local farmers.

The mill is highly known for its high-quality refined sugar, catering to a vast range of consumers, industrial food companies, and beverage processors present across the country.

Working with sustainable practices along with forward integration!

LH sugar factory is working on a highly sustainable and zero-waste model. The company diversified into two main verticals:

  • Cogeneration and power

The mill operates bagasse-based cogeneration facilities with a capacity of 44.25MW. The mill produces renewable electricity by burning bagasse which is utilized in various factory operations.

  • Distillery operations

The company’s distillery operations were established in 2018 in Jangraulipul, Pilibhit. Now, the specific dedicated division has scaled highly, producing 160KLPD.

The internal generation of molasses within the firm is processed heavily to produce industrial and potable alcohol and Ethanol. It has been supplied heavily to oil marketing companies. Also, the distillery division produces CO2, hand sanitisers, and dry ice.

  • Sugar production

The mill is operating with a crushing capacity of 13,000 tonnes of cane per day. All modern continuous processing technologies are used to optimise the sucrose extraction rate. Since the facility is growing at a higher rate, the company has invested in sugar refining systems that are designed to lower ICUMSA levels, allowing the company to generate good revenues from its refined sugar and other products.

The factory’s economic impact!

LH Sugar Factory is a major company affecting the area’s economy. The factory is directly providing employment to hundreds of workers and other technical professionals. Also, indirectly, it provides support to the livelihood of thousands of local sugarcane farmers who rely on the mill to get paid for the seasonal crop that they produce.

Moreover, by relying on bagasse for co-generation and utilising zero waste practices, the company is playing its part in making the environment eco-friendly.

Future overlook!

Since the company is growing well, its revenues are exceeding Rs.500 crore. The turnover is expected to grow in the upcoming years. The company is consistently growing and investing in modern equipment, expanding its distillery capacity to meet the increasing demand for ethanol-blended fuels.
