It is a prominent cooperative sugar factory situated in Kundal, Taluka Palus, in Sangli district in Maharashtra. It has been named after the founder, Krantiagrani Dr G. D. Bapu Lad, who was also a freedom fighter. The facility has been established with the purpose of empowering farmers while contributing to the economic development of the region. The Kranti Sugar factory operates a 5,000 TCD sugar mill with a 19.70MW cogeneration plant along with a 90KLPD distillery, which results in the production of electricity and ethanol. The facility is also boosting rural employment.
